The Mobitex Interface Specification (MIS) is administered by the Mobitex Association. The MIS is the complete and definitive interface specification for the Mobitex network and includes both the client and server sides of applications, as well as information for device developers.

Due to the nature of the information that it contains, the MIS is divided into two parts. One part provides detailed information about the radio link interface and is only available after signing a license agreement. The other part, which contains all the information that application developers and many device developers need, is freely available and can be downloaded here.

The fact that the Mobitex Association maintains the MIS ensures that it remains a living document and that the interface protocols are constantly being enhanced by people using the network and by the network operators themselves.
